I want to take a minute and thank all of you who keep coming back to my blog. I also want to thank the people who use my links to make your purchases. As you all know, I only link to companies that I believe in and use myself. So I wanted to thank you all, as it is the only source of income from this blog that I have…until my book is released!!! Yes…that’s right…I finally wrote a book! It will be hitting the shelves in just a few months! I can’t wait…I have been hearing for such a long time that I should write a book…well I finally did! It is at the end of the editing process right now and the publisher will be releasing it to bookstores in a couple of months! So stay tuned!!
I really appreciate everyone’s feedback on my articles and the fact that you all keep coming back to read my next ones! My hope is that I can help someone out there with celiac, so they don’t have to go through the same things that I went through and am still going through. So if I help even one person…I am a happy person!!
Hello everyone! Sorry I have been out of touch lately…let me start by going back a few months…
So about 5 months ago I ended up in the hospital with severe dehydration and a bacterial infection (which they never figured out where it came from or where it was). This happens to me about once a year, sometimes more. Usually during the summer, so I am figuring that the heat has something to do with this. But anyway, I haven’t felt 100% since I was in the hospital, I went through a few months where I thought I was dying, couldn’t get out of bed most of the time and I had absolutely no energy. They checked my thyroid and did all kinds of tests…everything came back normal.
So I ended up losing 10 pounds, which I really didn’t need to lose and even today, I am still losing weight…can’t gain. But…I put myself on a plain diet, got rid of all my sugar and caffeine…and I mean ALL sugar! I also upped my probiotics and I am now finally starting to feel better and I can go out and do things. I am not 100% there…but really close!
So, they other day….I had a small bowl of ice cream…gluten free…for the last 3 days my stomach has been in knots and I am not feeling quite as well as I was…I am also starting to scratch again. I have noticed when I have sugar, my stomach, chest and back itch…I just want to rip my skin off. SO…I am now assuming that my problems over the past 5 months were all associated with sugar. As long as I’m 100% sugar free…that includes fruits…I seem to be ok…I add a small amount of sugar and I am down and out for a few days.
Anyone else have these issues? Is it related to celiac? These are the questions that I am determined to get the answers to!!!
So, I want to know your thoughts and opinions….do you have issues with the heat? I have a horrible heat intolerance and I have talked to other people with celiac disease and they tell me the same thing. So, I want to know…do you have problems with the heat?
For example…when I go into the heat, it takes me about 30 seconds and I feel dizzy and nauseous. I always thought that it had to do with my progesterone being off and other complications…due to the celiac disease. But I have to talked to others that don’t have those complications, but do have the same heat intolerance symptoms. So…let me know…I really want to see what you all have to say about it!!
So…I know celiac’s seem to never feel “great”…but I have noticed that most have a certain time of day that they feel better or worse. I decided to do some research and find out if we all feel the best at the same time of day or vice versa. Because if we all feel horrible in the morning….then I want to know why! And I want to get to the bottom of this!
SO…I have come up with this poll…please, take the poll and I will let you know the results here in my blog.
Thank you to those of you who have sent me your celiac stories for my research! They are all great! I am still taking stories…so please…keep them coming!
I am requesting some more information…so you can add it to the end of your story or send it separately, but I would like to know the following:
What would you tell someone who was just diagnosed with celiac?
What is your favorite gluten free recipe?
What is your favorite celiac friendly restaurant?
You can send your stories and information to me at:
